Business Consultant
Position Profile
Working with the head of the division to build a successful consulting practice based around the knowledge and expertise of KSS fuels pricing activities with 54 customers in 22 countries. Taking ownership of, and managing the delivery of KSS consulting services in the oil & gas, convenience store and grocery sectors.
As the lead Consultant in the KSS Consulting division, this role will focus primarily on the delivery of a broad range of pricing and related services to existing KSS customers and prospective new customers in the aforementioned sectors. The role will include program management, consulting service definition/scoping, project management, service delivery and post-engagement reporting.
KSS Consulting will draw upon resources from the other departments in KSS and, as such, good team management and leadership skills are essential in getting the most from a potentially diverse set of team members. It is likely that some larger engagements will also involve 3rd party partners such as SAP, Accenture and other large organizations and hence experience working with partners is considered a distinct advantage.

Skills/abilities desired

- Facilitation, workshop scope & management techniques
- Design and implement management reporting mechanisms, including KPI measures
- Experience of mainstream business intelligence tools
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels of management
- Good written and oral skills
- Sound presentation and report writing
- Well organised and methodical
Capable of grasping complex concepts quickly and communicating them in ways that less-experienced audiences can understand. Able to create and maintain effective working relationships, negotiate under stress, whilst still producing high standards of work, overseeing any task through to completion.

- Data Quality Assessment and Management
- Defining documentation standards and controls
- Gap and impact analysis techniques – including risk analysis
- Producing detailed business requirement documentation
- Overseeing the development of new tools and/or data projects to deliver the necessary business or legal change requirements.
- Assisting systems vendor assessment and product evaluation. Producing recommendations and business cases for the proposed solution.
- Managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers
- Identification of training requirements and staff development
Team Member Skills
Must be able to work in partnership with resources from other KSS departments and effectively manage multi-skilled, short-term teams to deliver to cost and timescales. This role will also require extensive collaboration with the KSS sales, marketing and pre-sales teams to position and sell consulting services effectively.
Initiative
Must be a self-starter with ability to take the initiative and drive the consulting business forward under direction from the VP.
Communication
A clear, concise and confident communicator, with an ability to adapt the content of communications to suit the recipient audience. Good verbal and written presentation skills. Patience and ease with less qualified colleagues and customer personnel is considered a distinct advantage. Must be confident and experienced in dealing with partners and other 3rd parties.
